Description

Morini Kanguro X3. A bike that has been lightly refreshed and upgraded recently.
Recent tank and panel paintwork - Black. You will see from some of the photos there are also some red side panels included which I picked up in preparation for some light green lane work. I prefer the stripped back look but it’s wearing the black ones currently - takes about 5 mins to remove and replace.
The forks have been upgraded with Marzocchi USD forks plus the front brake from a late 1990s Aprilia Pegaso. This was done by a previous owner and the front brake is definitely more powerful than the original. The original Marzocchi forks, yokes, disc and grimeca caliper is included if you wanted to put it all back to original. There is a new venhill brake line on the front but you would probably need another one if returning to the original front brake set up.
Recent grimeca front and rear brake reservoirs fitted and brakes serviced to get a fresh MOT in February this year. Very few miles since other than to give her an occasional run and shake the cobwebs off.
Fitted with a lower seat at the moment and an original one also included. Recent aftermarket chain tensioner fitted and a new Mauro Gini roller ready as a spare (as rare as hens teeth!). NOS hand guards also fitted this year to replace the tired and cracked originals. Some spares included - forks and seat mentioned already, plus a spare air filter, NOS clutch and speedo cable. A few bits and bobs like headlamp, bars etc. Previous owner changed the belt and I have a new conti belt ready but it seemed pointless to change it just yet so I was going to wait for an oil change but oil only changed earlier this year and no miles to talk of have been added since. Oh, and fitted an additional grab handle above the silencer so they are on both sides. The factory rack is handy and there is an original document/ tool bag which is a nice original touch. It’s a really nice bike in very good condition. Morini used quality parts and the little V twin was well engineered. While black body work has been redone, the frame and wheels are original and in good used condition. Having lived with it for a while, I just find it a bit physically big so going to get something smaller and lower capacity. Most spares seem pretty easy to find and the only thing I found hard to find was a chain roller but you now have the spare. There is an optimate charger socket fitted. I removed the aftermarket indicators as my plan was to use it mostly for green lanes but the switchgear and connections are all there if you wanted to bolt some back on. There is also a X2 tank if you want it. To complete the trail riding trim, I had the idea to fit the smaller tank from the X2 model, but never got as far as making the necessary mods. There is reference to making the change on the owners forum. The X3 tank can carry a lot of fuel (they are very economical bikes by the way), so my idea was to both preserve the nice black paintwork on the original tank and save a bit of weight and bulk for green lane purposes with the X2 tank. The upgraded forks and front brake work well on the road. If I was keeping the bike, I think I would have changed back to the originals as while I’ve not compared the weight, the originals look lighter for off-road use which was where I intended the bike to spend most of its time. Having ventured out locally, I found the Aprilia forks were good so it’s more about if you wanted to keep it absolutely stock or content with that upgrade and stronger brake.
Happy to provide a walk around video/ start up for anyone interested if travelling to view is a long trip.
V5 in my name, I’m recorded as the 3rd owner and comes with an owners club dating certificate. MOT with no advisories to March 2026.
It’s a great bike and I did think about just keeping it for road use but I have a Morini road bike too so it’s up for sale to fund a small bike for green lane duty. Would consider a swap if you have something that fit that bill.
