Needs absolutely nothing, full frame on restoration(engine and new subframe rebuilt and a LOT more, pretty much everything, hundreds of new parts just in the recent years and less than 3000 miles since), ready for a Grand tour.
All matching numbers (engine, transmission, and body panels). Never been in an accident. I was just awarded the 250, 000 km mileage award after inspection by the Mercedes service department. ZERO RUST spent nearly twice the asking price. "The most expensive Mercedes is a cheap Mercedes". That's the reason for the huge price difference between a perfect R107 than just a running driving example. not cheap to restore to a perfect car.
The car was sold new in Beverly Hills, lived in California for 25 years with its original owner, where it was dealer serviced and had refreshment of 35k$, then 2nd owner in Texas where he spent another 10k (all documented), and then imported to Canada in 2019. Since the car landed in Canada, only the last two invoices add to $42, 082. 03 CAD (see pictures) one for $34888. 53 CAD and for $7200. 50 CAD. Too much to list, and the car has less than 3000 miles put on it since then. The last two services of over $42K was done with Orginal mercedes specs and parts. The huge price difference in the R107 market is because a perfect car costs a good $80k to restore. light respray paint, perfect condition, just a small dent on the fender that can be removed by paintless dent removal. won't find another one in this condition at this price. Basically pay for the last 2 bills in the past few years and get a free car. Just had the oil change, timing, and fuel injection tune up this season. Got lots of more pictures of everything and underneath, the car was fully detailed professionally(clay bar and paint meter) on the exterior last November. Pictures are from before detailing it looks even better now and could use an engine detail with dry ice. Still has the USA stamp on the engine and lots of factory markings and stickers. Got a recent video of the drive, I have the video of the cold start this season with a laser thermometer, the car burns ZERO oil and starts on the first try and revs so smoothly. R107, aka the panzer wagon, cause of being so robust and reliable, and is a grand tourer, no headache just keep maintaining this one and it will last you a long time. As a Mercedes collector with 7 Mercedes in my garage, I love the early r107, it's lighter, less electronics and more charactreics of the previous generation SL before they become more of curiser car toward the end of R107 production, and more elegance in the interior, with its powerful V8 and its 230HP which is only 15HP less than 500SL(the most powerful R107 SL). The color is very 70s, which is in fashion now and offered again by Mercedes and Porsche. Power Windows, locks, antenna and power steering, cruise control, and A/ C. All original Keys, booklets, manuals, jack, and tools. new OEM floor pan on the driver's side, no rust on the drain fenders, and always garage kept. New soft top and interior.
