Description
This Ogle designed Rebel 700 is a very rare car with just a dozen currently on the road, and rarer still is that it's had continual use since 1967, until recently in the same family. There it was serviced and mot'd annually and generally pampered with short trips and driving to shows only. All the tax discs, invoices and bills of sale are in a large folder.
Its completely original and correctly detailed with a very good interior (with recent tailored carpets) and exterior free of cracks or crazing (still in it's factory colour).
The all important chassis is also very good and the car comes with recent tyres, brakes, radiator. heater box and fan, along with uprated fuse box. Chrome is all good and there are new door seals.
Mechanically the drivetrain has been sensitively updated, so this Rebel easily deals with modern traffic, both going and stopping (the latter courtesy of a servo).
A recently rebuilt high compression 850 engine provides lively performance, with the remote shift gearbox also completely rebuilt.
A new propshaft drives the fully rebuilt Rebel axle, this time with 3. 6:1 gearing suited to the increased power.
Reliability is assured with an alternator conversion, pre-engaged starter and electronic ignition, along with a stainless exhaust.
Handling is improved by a Kitten anti-rollbar and Gaz dampers. Rear spring shackles are new.
One key fits all of the locks (v. rare!)
This Rebel is on the button and ready for it's new owner.
Coming with it are workshop manuals, owners handbook, many spares - spare short engine with new crank, very good 4. 1:1 axle, gearbox parts and a twin SU/ manifold conversion kit.
