Below is the text from the add when I purchased the vehicle from Martin Hughes who is the admin for the 109 S3 High Capacity FB Group.
I have owned this since 2016 when i brought it as a barn find, to return it to the road we did an extensive rebuild to include -
New Galvanized chassis
Completely overhauled axles.
Dampers.
Front Springs.
Brake system.
Lightly repaired foot wells.
New clutch and Brake hydraulics.
Head Skim.
New Props.
Genuine swivels and gaiters.
Stainless exhaust.
5 Avon Range Masters.
New Clutch
I fitted an almost new overdrive we got from a friend who brought it new for his lightweight and had only covered 10000 miles.
New Super winch Husky
The vehicle drives spot on and has always passed its MOT with very little fuss, Steering is light and responsive, gear change smooth, brakes strong and straight and plenty of power from the 2. 25 petrol and Weber carb.
Serviced every 12 months to the day regardless of the mileage.
From the photos you can see this is a good strong working vehicle, if you want something for polishing, making to factory fresh and you enjoy looking at panel gaps this is probably best not bothering with. If you want something that can be used every day, relied upon and is Sub zero cool this is for you.
Chassis is obviously rot free, Bulk head had light foot well repairs but is in great condition.
TAX MOT and ULEZ Exempt
To pick on negatives, reverse is noisy, but always has been and works fine
To sum up a fully working rare 109 Hi Cap, used every day, very versatile, very cool, loads of dents and scratches and a real beast of a series Land Rover.
