Description
Low mileage (76000km, approx. 47000 miles) 16V Integrale in excellent condition mechanically and structurally.
Originally produced for the Japanese market the car was imported to the UK and first registered here in May 2008. I purchased the car at the end of May 2009 and it has since been garaged and only used occasionally and always in good weather. As such the car has been salt free for the vast majority of its life, a fact which is reflected in the excellent condition of the underside.
The car is mechanically original and runs and handles as you would expect from a car of this pedigree with such low mileage. Since I acquired the car it has been maintained by Integrale specialists; initially by John Whalley in Bishops Stortford and more recently by Zagato Lancia in central London. The car comes with an extensive service history including the original Japanese service book. A full service including replacement of all belts was carried out last July and less than 150 miles has been covered since.
The bodywork is also largely original (no aftermarket Evo spoilers or wheels) with the only change being to the indicator repeaters which are now to the spec. of UK imported cars. The repeaters where changed in 2015 during work carried out after minor damage was sustained to the drivers side. During this work all areas of localised corrosion typically found on an Integrale were addressed and a full re-spray carried out resulting in the excellent finish seen today. In August 2021 the wheels were stripped, re-sprayed and diamond turned to bring them up to the same standard as the bodywork.
The interior is the cars weakest point as the Japanese spec. grey alcantara seats have suffered abrasion damage to the bolsters. I have a full, good condition black leather UK spec. interior available by separate negotiation if required. All the electrics work, however there is an annoying gremlin in the central locking system which can be avoided by locking the doors before moving off. An aftermarket aluminium gear knob has been fitted and the rear screen features a custom 'HF / Running Elephant' graphic: both of these can be easily removed if required.
The car is located in Stevenage and can be viewed on a four post lift for full access to the underside if required. The car is priced to reflect its excellent but not perfect condition and if you want to experience a very good example of a rally legend and don't want to pay the premium currently being asked for an Evo then look no further. This is my second Integrale which in itself says quite a bit about my own view of the model. I bought this example primarily because of its excellent rust free condition compared to my first one, which was also a 16V.
Integrales are very special cars and even today a well driven example will hold its own against most other cars when it comes to interesting roads. Like all original Integrales the car is left hand drive but this takes a surprisingly short time to get used to and the effort taken is more than rewarded by the driving experience.
The Integrale is a car which every true petrol head should experience and this example is realistically priced, solid example which you can be proud to own.
