Description
I've been riding this bike since 2001. The bike, completely original, is in excellent mechanical condition and the bodywork is more than decent; it comes with the owner's and maintenance manuals and the tool kit. There is a scratch on the right valve cover and small scratches on the tank. The bike has always been kept in a garage and is being sold due to lack of use.
Honestly, I’m sorry to leave it parked in the garage and not able to keep racking up the miles as it has always done. The R 100 R (the “R” stands for Roadster) can be defined as the road-going version of the R 100 GS and represents the typical traditional road motorcycle, i. e., free of fairings and aerodynamic panels. This return to its origins was also underscored by the presence of some “old style” components, such as the round headlamp, the instrumentation, and the valve covers on the cylinder heads. From 1992 to 1995, the R 80 R was listed in the catalogue, a smaller sister produced in 3, 593 units with the livery of its bigger sister: this bike is one of 525 examples in Turkisgrun-metallic (data taken from - details above). The roar is that classic twin-cylinder with 2 valves per cylinder. The engine has legendary reliability and the maintenance manuals allow skilled personnel to intervene on any adjustment.
