Description
Aston Martin DBS6 1972 - £25k Engine Rebuild (Reg JML 360K)
The DBS was for many years seen as the Cinderella of the AM world, outshone by the earlier seminal DB5 models. Nowadays with prices of DB5’s having reached stratospheric values; the DBS cars are very much in the ascendancy and prices have firmed up for both barn finds and concourse examples.
Production run of the stretched between September 1967 and April 1972 during which 803 examples were produced. Thus, the DBS, even though it was in production for almost 5 years, are rarer than the DB5.
This example has covered a mere 54, 700 miles and whilst this cannot be 100% verified, the mechanical condition of the engine suggests this to be the correct mileage. The car was in private storage for around 18 years until it was bought by me with a view to carry out a full bear metal restoration. The car is currently registered to my brother for practical reasons as I was living abroad between 2018 and 2021.
Extensive paperwork including historic records, invoices and receipts for works carried out with most parts purchased from Aston Martin
BODYWORK
The car was subject a full bear metal respray with photographic evidence at key stages back in 2020. The aluminium body does not suffer from any rust or corrosion.
CHROME-WORK
The chrome work presents itself very well with a brand-new front chrome bumper costing well over £1, 200.
BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR
One of the key features about this car other than its mechanics and bodywork is the excellent condition of the interior which is finished in black natural soft leather with no rips and tears. Both the front seats have been professionally re-upholstered to replace the worn interior sponge filling. The Dashboard leather was professionally stripped, re-stitched and treated
ELECTRICS
All electrics are in good working condition although the original 8 deck stereo hasn’t been upgraded and kept in its original condition. This would be something the new owner may want to change.
CARPETS
The car has received brand new black good quality carpets throughout including the trunk area all tailored made to fit
WHEELS / TYRES
The car is shod in brand new tyres with original wire wheels and spinners. Car benefits from a full-size tyre and very expensive and original

Letter from previous owner confirmation low ownershipCherished AM DBS6 that's had over £25k spent on it over the past 5 years and unfortunately due to retirement and moving abroad, I cannot justify taking the car with me. It requires very little in order to make it a concourse example and I have allowed enough wiggle room in my asking price to contribute towards an auto to manual conversion, and should the new owner wish to do so. I would consider a LHD Porsche Turbo or something similar as a possible PX. No timewasters or low ball offers please as I am happy to put the car into long-term storage but it would be a shame as the car needs to be driven enjoyed and appreciated. More images upon request and the car can be viewed or inspected in Cheshire by appointment.
