This is an outstanding example of Wolseley's Series 3 12/ 48 models.
Originally introduced at the 1937 Motor Show, the Series 3 cars impressed contemporary Road Testers with their generous space for five passengers and their luggage, stable handling, and excellent finish. As a 12hp car, it offered surprisingly good performance with regard to speed and fuel consumption.
This particular example has been restored to an exceptional standard undergoing a full strip down and rebuild during 2021 and went on to win an award for 'best car' at the NEC show in 2024. It has seen occasional use as a wedding car, for which it is ideally suited with its magnificent full internal refurbishment. Viewing is strongly recommended and any test or inspection is welcome'.
The number plate is age related and a new V5. This car was originally located in Cornwall where it has spent most of it's life, it had some moderate restoration carried out in the early 1970's that I know of but unfortunately was parked up in a barn in the mid 1990's and it sat there until 2021 where it was a barn find and required extensive restoration. The vehicle underwent a total strip down to the chassis level with the body off. The body has been repaired using traditional metal working skills and then repainted into its original color "Connaught green". The chassis has been painted in black and then the body remounted onto the chassis and all the parts repainted and re-fitted. The electrical and mechanical elements have been renewed where needed and then the vehicle was re-trimmed by a trimming specialist with vast experience of this era of car. All elements of this restoration has been carried out with keeping its original characteristics in forefront of mind. The quality is outstanding and is a must see!.
