Meet Dave. The local celebrity cross over 1968 Double Cab (DOKA) that wins the hearts of people of all ages. Dave was built on the 2nd July 1968 in Germany (see vin plate) and then was destined to be registered in Nuremburg. There are only a handful of cross over's left in the world which haven't been either patched up, restored or just rotted through. Volkswagen finished the split screen line in 1968 in April but with a whole bunch of split screen parts left over they had to put them somewhere so the first bay window body was off the assembly line but with mostly split screen parts. And THAT is a cross over. Dave has an original Emden factory radio and all the original locks have been repaired so they all work as does the windows and he has had a total re-wire, new tyres, hub caps and more recently in the last month a thousand pounds spent on a complete new braking system ready for the new owner He starts on the button and of course has been part of my fleet of prom vehicles. He is a historic vehicle so both Tax and MOT exempt. He has for insurance purposes from Footman James an agreed valuation of 35000 pounds but I'm selling him for the write down value in the books as advised by the accountant. I paid 20000 4 years ago so someone is going to get an uber cool deal. Dave had a paint job maybe 20 years ago so he is has nice patina . He is honest and nothing has been covered up. I've got bills receipts and history even of him living in Chile for 19 years! Viewings and test drives are most welcome and a ramp inspection too! The most recent works have been completed by iconic seasoned Volkswagen expert Tim from Riverside Engineering in Whaley Bridge Derbyshire He actually gasped when he saw the price and was sorely tempted to buy this for his business as an advertising truck so don't wait too long! PS Dave has THE ORIGINAL interior and since they say its only original once it would be such a shame to take it out to re-trim him. But that's up to you . Vehicle registered: 02/ 07/ 1968They say its only original once which is why Dave aged 57 still sports his completely original interior and body! with a lovely almanac of where he has been all this time too with bills and receipts . Just a thought ... Ive had a few enquiries now but they don't turn up so im sick of wasting dreamers Pls do your research This is a very rare commercial truck not a camper van Dave is simply waiting for someone who appreciates his finest qualities in combination of split screen reliability and the bay window looks so you can drive it like it is as it runs sweet or restore it This is a blank canvas complete with rust Yes! Not bogged up and painted but fully transparent so please don't come at me and say its rusty Its NOT restored and there are only 2 original ones in the UK of which this is one.
