Description
This vehicle was bought in the year 2000, For the next 7years it under went a body off restoration. There is extensive photographic evidence of the work carried out. The body was removed and stored to allow the chassis to be stripped and have all the necessary work eg. engine, gear box, steering and suspension. all brake pipes, metal and flex. any other work required. The chassis was cleaned painted with Kurerust, painted with Hammerite, this completed all the componant parts eg. suspension, steering, etc. until it was a complete rolling chassis. All completed and running.
Work started on the body. The body was stripped to bare metal and repaired as required. Fitted to the chassis, etched primered, painted in Pewter base coat and lacquer.
All the interior trim was replaced, dash re veneered, new hood , S-S exhaust new tyres, too many parts to list but futher details if required. Have full list of all parts fitted to the car. When I was an apprentice in a Standard _Triumph Garage in th50s, I worked on a number of these cars, and remember telling one of my colleagues that one day I will have one of these cars. When I retired my wife told me that I needed a project, this was my chance to get the Triumph.
I looked around at quite a number of these Triumph's, I wanted one that needed a complete strip down, this I found in a barn around the Buxton area. This project gave me a great deal of pleasure, because of the age of the car parts were getting more difficult to find but the Roadster club were a great help.
This project allowed me to use the skill and expertise which I had accumulated over 45 years in the motor industry. When the completed my wife and I had a lot of pleasure in going to classic car shows and sometimes winning also for a drive around the country side in our area with the hood down.
