Of the remaining 102 examples on the road this must be one of the best, there is no damage, no corrosion, no sign that it has never had any paintwork, the tyres and wheels are new the full size spare appears to have never been fitted, the interior is immaculate. The car is absolutely standard, just as the day it was manufactured and with no modifications. It was ordered without roof rails and as was popular 30 years ago a factory fit sunroof instead of air conditioning.
It has never been fitted with a tow bar, no one has smoked in the car and I doubt it has ever carried a pet.
The engine is sweet, the gearbox changes smoothly, in fact everything works just as it should including the cassette player, sun roof and heated seats, the 4 keys and 2 remote fobs are present and working. The running in sticker has not been removed, the battery is genuine Volvo. I became only the second owner of this lovely 850 GLT just over a year ago when the first owner who I had known for many years decided it was time to stop driving.
Having been SORN for a year I put it through an MOT, a service and then into storage until a few weeks ago when I started driving and enjoying it.
It passed its latest MOT test a few weeks ago with no advisories, just like every previous one, please check it out on the DVLA web site.
It has a full and interesting service history because the original owner was a technician for a prestigious car franchise and as such he carried out all of the work himself, keeping meticulous records. He changed the oil and genuine Volvo filter 51 times, I have all of the receipts the file is about 1 inch thick.
