Description

Offered for sale, PX (cash my way) or swap, purely as I fancy a change and also have an imminent house move and baby on the way, is my 1933 Standard Ten.

Beautiful pre-war vintage car, which I acquired earlier this year. Sadly, I haven't done much with it since getting it, apart from acquiring period handbooks, the odd small drive and collecting parts. The lack of use has prompted me to look for something else, although I may end up keeping it and forcing myself to use!

It runs and drives great and is surprisingly easy to drive with synchromesh all all but 1st gear. Those fearful of driving an old car need not worry. I've driven 60's car which are harder to drive.

It has been restored previously with charming hand written notes accompanying it. I actually met the previous owner who had it restored who is a lovely helpful man and I would be glad to put the buyer in contact with him. The car whilst presents very well, is showing it's age in places, but it's still extremely presentable and very solid.

The interior is very clean and tidy and everything appears to work. Kindly note, the clock is removed and requires refitting and a spare one is present too. The ignition switch broke a few years back so an aftermarket switch is fitted, which means uniquely, no key! Finally, the rear passenger side door window is cracked - taped up so no risk of breaking further.

Mechanically it's very good. It always fires up on the second attempt (i think turning over the first time draws fuel) with a bit of choke, then settles into a nice idle off choke. I've not driven it great distance, but from what I have, it drives very well with everything appearing to work as required.

Whilst you could drive it away, I would recommend not as it's an old car, very noisy and rather slow. It also has semaphore style indicators which both work perfectly, but no modern additions (I personally think it looks better without the gormless add ons, but i do understand they aid safety!). It also has no seatbelts. I'd be happy to work with your transporter, but I won't be paying for this (i would consider splitting costs in a swap/ px deal if it's something interesting!).

I've advertised it for around what I got it for, but I'm open to any deals really, although stupid offers will be ignored! I get it's a niche car and i may lose some money on it.

I'm very interested in a swap or px deal (cash my way - due to house move and baby i won't be putting any cash down) for any interesting cars, fast, old, etc but please no projects and nothing newer than 90s. Tax and MOT exempt would be preferred, but i'd be open to the more modern classics.

I'd of course sell for cash too, but reasonable offers please.

She's located at my parents house in Oakworth, garaged away. Viewings can be accomodated and test drives welcomed (please provide evidence of insurance), but I won't take her out in the rain. I have videos of her running and general condition etc that I will be happy to share.

Thank you for looking and please contact me if you have any questions - messages preferred, but happy to talk over phone too.
