235 straight six, four speed floor change, I have owned this truck for just over 2 years now and it is used most days for running about, since I have had it, I have been through it and everything now works as it should, all the gauges, vents, heater, wipers etc; I have put a lot into making this a good usable truck but keeping it as original as possible. It now has fitted;
New front leaf springs, New shackles, New front shocks, New Brakes all round, New hand brake cables, New mechanical fuel pump, New vacuum advance, Electronic ignition, coil, New Temp sensor, New twin horns, New mirrors, 5 matching tyres as new,
Inside the cab it has had the entire gauge cluster removed cleaned a new speedometer, Temperature gauge fitted new retro sound radio, and speakers. Headlining is sorted and sunshades are tinted Perspex.
It will come with new drop glass, quarter glass and full rubber seal kit which includes all the glass rubbers and door seals, just haven’t got around too fitting them yet. But will now leave that up to the new owner as they might want to change direction and paint it.
Rear bed is original wood, buck is covered with Ply and a custom made cover.(It had a steel panel tow bar fitted which looked awful)So Last year I put a Good second hand rear bumper, and new bumper irons, correct number plate mount. The rear of the truck has been rewired with electrics done for towing, new tail lights, just needs tow bar fitted if you want to tow.
The body work is solid, Chassis really good, floor is excellent, cab corners had been repaired in the past, but nowhere near ready to be done again, doors have small amount of rust in skins but not bad, frames are great, paint work is patina,
Engine is as sweet as a nut, starts on the button. Great oil pressure never runs hot, charging is still dynamo but working 100% this is just overall a nice original truck.
I would love to keep this, but the plans I had for the use of it have changed, and I now need more seats, instead of a pickup bed, so I have replaced it with a more practical car with 4 seats so this now needs to go to a new home. All sensible offers considered.
