After completing an extensive restoration of our customers 19.. MK2 Jaguar in 2018 to an excellent standard, the time has come for someone else to enjoy it.
This rare Jaguar features, power steering, full burgundy leather interior, and contrasting black carpets.
This is a great car, which was brought back to its former glory in May 2018. This restoration involved significant expense. It has always had a maintained routine maintenance, the car was 52 years old and naturally required increasing attention over the years. Therefore, she reluctantly decided to part with it and purchase something more modern.
Below is an overview of the comprehensive work performed, parts replaced, and reconditioned items:
** BODYWORK & ENGINE BAY:**
The car was meticulously disassembled, with every screw and fixing individually bagged and labeled. All glass, including the complete sunroof, was removed, as were all exterior trims, the engine, and the gearbox. Some light welding was necessary before the car was sent to the bodyshop for prep and a full respray, including the engine bay. ( photographs are available to examine upon request.) Following the respray, the paintwork was protected with a polymer silicone-based sealant to maintain its shine.
** INTERIOR:**
All seats were sent to a professional automotive trimming company, stripped, and recovered in leather with bolsters replaced simultaneously. Finished with the detail, the result is stunning, . All door cards and carpets are original and in near-perfect condition, as are the headlining and dashboard, without the common cracks that many cars of this era suffered from.
** ENGINE, GEARBOX & TRANSMISSION:**
The engine was replaced with a 3. 8 and the cylinder head rebuilt. the following was also replaced.
* Engine oil & filter
* Air filter
* Spark plugs
* H. T. leads
* Distributor cap & rotor arm
* Oil sump & gasket
* Oil temp sensor
* Rocker cover gasket
* Timing chain & water pump
* Coolant flange
* Coolant hoses & clips (including metal one in offside front wing)
* Cooling fan thermo switch
* Starter motor
* Alternator
** UNDERSIDE:**
The rear axle was removed, stripped down, shot-blasted, and powder-coated and refurbished The body work was taken back to bare metal and all the usual panels replaced and joins lead loaded. A full repaint was then carried out
** BRAKES / STEERING / SUSPENSION / WHEELS & TYRES:**
The following parts have been replaced or rebuilt:
* Front brake calipers rebuilt
* Front brake discs & pads
* Rear calipers and discs
* Handbrake cable clips
* Rear flexi hoses
* Rear shock absorbers
* Front shock absorbers
* Front springs
* Front hubs powder coated
* Wishbones powder coated
* Front wheel bearings
* Rear wheel bearings
* Track rod ends
* Anti-roll bar drop links
* All four tyres
All wheels where replaced with new.
As you would certainly hope and expect, considering the time, money, and effort invested, the car drives superbly.
Its now time for this classic car to be driven and cherished by a new owner, due to the current owner having a disability preventing them to continue driving their beloved Jaguar.
