Description

We have recently taken in part exchange this very very interesting mk2 escort.

A very genuine car thats only had 4 former keepers from new .

Whilst it looks like a relatively sombre 4 door escort with RS2000 wheels what lies beneath is somewhat different altogether ! A small fortune has been building the mechanicals on this car and I will try and outline as much information as I can below although I’m sure if you are looking at this advert it’s probably a model that you understand better than I do!!

Last owner has had the car for 9 years .

Specification is as follows:

Type 9 gearbox - refurbishment works carried out in 2022

Lowering blocks fitted 2019

New Weber fuel pressure regulator in 2019

Engine is a 1. 6 litre pinto but with a turbocharger!!

RS coilover suspension fitted

The engine has been dyno’d and is showing 308. 9 bhp and 256 at the wheels, 292 lb/ ft of torque - this was completed 2022

The following is the spec of the engine when it was built in 2016 :

Woosher pistons, pec rods, 134 piper cam kit, big valve head, rebore and deck, new mains and big ends, water pump, high capacity oil pump, grind crank and harden, c and g twin clutch and flywheel, 8:3:1 compression, ARP headstands and flywheel studs, full engine balance .

Then in 2021 : new inlet valves, exhaust valves, stem seals, rings, hone block and a new head .

A small fortune has been spent on this as you can imagine, the underside is lovely and has zero rot , engine bay is literally to show car standard including having the full engine bay painted but it has been left to look original on the outside and not painted , there are 2 extremely small pieces needed on the rear arches where it has rusted but they are both less than an inch and the inner arches are perfect so easily fixed

According to the last owner the digital speedo needs calibrating properly .

I have noticed that when you initially engage gear there is a flywheel noise but thats perhaps a characteristic of the particular transmission its running .

Like I said its not my specialist subject but please feel free to ask any further questions

Many thanks for looking
