Comes with both hard top and soft top. I acquired this Mercedes-Benz SL 280 R129 as a project car. It is a previous Cat N as it was previously vandalised. My educated guess is that the reason why it is a Cat N is because of the missing items that were the front and rear lights, the door mirrors, the boot lid, the door cards and the back part of the exhaust.
In my time of rescuing this wonderful SL, I have done my best to get it back together by sourcing and reinstating the missing parts, giving it a service and an MOT. The underside of the SL is nice and clean, no rust. My objective of rescuing this SL was to get it on the road. I have accomplished that, the car is great and I am happy with it. I wash it, wax it and keep it to the best that I can.
There are some areas that require attention:
- the top 2 roof cylinders above the front windscreen need to be rebuilt or replaced
- the head lining for the hard top requires new fabric.
There are some small imperfections as you would expect:
- a scratch on the left front wing
- a scratch and small dent on the left door
- a small amount of bubbling in the paint on the left rear quarter where the bumper meets the body
- a scrape on the right corner of the front bumper.
