Description
My 2-owners from new beautiful Ducati has been pampered by me for 11 years, ridden regularly until November 2024, and comes with a fully-itemized task-based service record.
Mechanically really excellent , she shares the same engine as the much sought-after 996 and very desirable Monster S4RS, and goes pretty much as well!
This is the 'S' model so she comes fitted as standard, of course, with fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension front and rear (unlike the lesser equipped ST2, ST3 and ST4).
Sympathetic mods, to make her smoother and more tractable in traffic and generally a greater pleasure to live with are:
Tweaked fuelling to improve flexibility
Lowered gearing to improve flexibility
Uprated battery cables
Manual fan switch
Oberon clutch slave cylinder
QD tank hoses
HDI dipped beam
Tall screen
Fender extender
Mirror QD fasteners and extenders
Bar weights
Neoprene grips
Stainless fasteners (some)
You can see for yourself from the photos that she is as clean and good under the fairing as she looks on top. She does have some bodywork paint blemishes (see photos). I bought her in 2014 from her first owner. After 11, 000 or so happy miles, I tried to downsize in 2019 when I bought a Ducati 796 to replace her. Didn't work! Every time I got on her I remembered why I just love her. She goes like a rocket, with her long legs in her element cruising over fast terrain, or gunning through the corners of a mountain road, and you can sit behind the fairing at 100 as if you're at a standstill in the shed. She is amongst the most lovely of all the very many machines I've owned over more than 60 years.
Her increasing weight forces me to sell. I cannot bear to have her sitting unused in my garage, where her excellent condition will slowly deteriorate, so I'm offering this beautiful, thoroughbred, ridiculously fast, racing-engine-based tourer for about half the price of Yamaha FS1-E moped!
How could you possible refuse?
