Thank you for your interest in purchasing my beloved Renault Clio 172.
As I'm sure you've gathered by the pictures, this is a tidy example of what is now a 22 year old car with only 109, 000 miles on the shell and circa 30, 000 on a rebuilt engine which included brand new rod bearings, uprated ARP rod bolts, head bolts, water pump, oil pump, and dephaser pulley.
I have also fitted the car with uprated ferodo brake pads, along with grooved Brembo front discs to aid cooling and HEL braided brake lines front and rear. Beyond this, I have also fitted a KTEC induction kit along with a Pure Motorsports fully resonated stainless steel exhaust and 200 cell sports catalytic converter, which really allows the engine to sing without being obnoxiously loud. The final modification is a set of factory 172 Cup specification Speedline Turini alloy wheels finished in gunmetal grey and wrapped in brand new Nexen tyres. The suspension has intentionally been left standard as I have only enjoyed this car on the road and it has never seen a track in it's life.
Other than what I have mentioned above the car is exceptionally original, down to the full interior, radio headunit, and even including the Renault supplied accident management pack complete with Renault branded torch and disposable camera.
The maintenance history of the car is also exceptional, with a very comprehensive service history dating back to it's first service in 2005 and even the installation certificate for the alarm fitted when new.
While the car presents very well for it's age, there are of course some scratches, chips and dings. If you're looking for a collectors example of a car then this isn't the car for you. However, if you want to use the car as intended, then I'm confident you will be pleased with the condition upon viewing. The car has a minor power steering fluid leak which simply needs topping up every now and again, a small creak in the steering but only when going from lock to lock, and an intermittent ABS/ Traction control light.
The car will aslo come supplied with the original wheels, a spare set of upper and lower inlet manifolds which I intended to have ported and polished, and a set of Clio 197 camshafts. Everything it needs in order to see a nice bump in power to 190hp+ after a remap! This was my personal plan for the car, however after 5 years of ownership I have decided it's time to grow up and put a house deposit together.
