Description
Reluctantly selling Our Little Treasure (OLT) as we do not have the knowledge to keep him maintained and my VW air cooled mechanic has retired.
Purchased in October 2020, he has only had 6 owners since new.
History on the car from other owners suggests he was with one owner for over 30 years, and he was used as a wedding car around 2015 to 2019 when he was tidied up inside and a new engine fitted from a Kent Based VW specialist.
Since then he has driven very few miles; Mot on 20. 9. 18 logged a mileage of 87, 823 and mileage now is 88, 128.
During my ownership I have replaced all the tyres, replaced all rubber trims around the windows, had the some of the electrics rewired behind the dashboard, fitted new rear elephant foot light covers, had new flexi brake hose fitted to all 4 brakes, steering track control arm boots replaced, new Speedo cable fitted and more!
UPDATE: the starter motor has also been replaced on 12/ 8/ 25
Currently, he does have some small areas of rust coming through, but I'm told the floor pan is sound. Always on my list to do was to get a new bonnet as it has been filled and this is cracking. He could also do with new running boards, new chrome headlight fitting and a respray. If you are looking for a genuine car which has not been too messed about with to restore, Our Little Treasure is a great car. He is a rare 1972 VW 1303s Super Bug with a 1600cc engine.
According to google there are only 195 of these little cars left on the road in the UK.
He's tidy inside and is a head turner on the road.
