Description
First registered in 1974, we have owned this 1303S Beetle since 2017. It was my wife's daily driver until she retired, doing a 20 mile round trip five days per week. It is not a show car and is being sold because it is no longer used regularly. It was originally silver and we have had it repainted in Porsche Guards Red.
It has been very reliable and we have kept it regularly serviced. It is completely standard apart from two sensible changes, an electric screen wash and a Berg oil temp dipstick. As a 1303S it has MacPherson strut suspension and handles well. It also has front disc brakes which aid stopping power. Although it is a classic vehicle we have kept it MOT'd (current MOT to Aug 2026).
The body and underside are very solid. The only blemish on the body is at the bottom rear of the driver's door (see pic). The interior is in good condition. We have replaced the original carpets with items from VW Heritage and the front seats are American spec VW original equipment with tilt and recline. We want to emphasise that this is a daily driver and not a show car. The mileage shown is as the odometer but obviously it will have covered much more. It is mechanically sound and the body is in good order. We have an agreed value of £10k with our insurers. It is of course exempt from road tax. The car is over 50 years old so we would be happiest if any potential purchaser comes to view before parting with cash.
Being a MacPherson strut Super Beetle this would make a good basis for a German Look conversion.
