When I acquired my beautiful Mercedes-Benz E220 Coupe it had been off the road for 5 years and is a previous Cat N. To my understanding it was off the road because of the little mis-hap. The E220 had a dent on the left front wing, a crack on the front bumper and a missing left corner indicator.
I have rescued this E220 giving it a replacement front wing, bumper and indicator. There was no structural damage on the car when I removed the damaged wing and bumper. It is all straight and looks good. As I dived deeper in the car I discovered both doors had rust where the Sacco panels meet the door. I then sourced 2 replacement doors, painted the wing, bumper and doors.
I serviced the E220 giving it oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs. I then took it for its first MOT since 2020 and it required some welding on some small areas. The right inner arch had 3 small holes, the right side of the boot had one small hole and the the suspension sub-frame had some light surface corrosion. All the welding work was carried out by a automotive welding specialist and he did phenomenal work on the E220. After the welding was done he undersealed the whole underside of the car and it looks amazing.
When I had painted the front wing and doors I noticed there was a slight difference in colour. After the E220 passed its MOT I treated it to a full respray apart from the bonnet and door mirrors to get all the panels to match and now the car looks fabulous.
With me the E220 has had 2 MOT'S and is in excellent condition. The car drives absolutely beautiful, smooth and comfortable. All works great and the car looks great.
There are some small imperfections on the car that are, a scratch on the left side of the front bumper, a scratch on the right side of the rear bumper and a small amount of delamination on the right bottom of the front windscreen.
