Extremely Rare 1938 BMW R20 – Original Condition – Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity
We are proud to offer what is arguably one of the rarest pre-war motorcycles on the market today – a 1938 BMW R20, believed to be in completely original condition. With only 5, 000 units ever produced between 1937 and 1938, the R20 is a true collector's gem, and examples like this seldom come up for sale.
This particular motorcycle was imported from Dutch Lion Motorbikes in Holland by its previous owner, who paid a substantial sum for it (a copy of the receipt is included) and arranged premium transport via Moving Motorcycles, costing nearly £1, 500.
What sets this R20 apart is its remarkably original condition. From the patina on the paint to the period-correct components, everything appears to be intact and untouched, offering a rare opportunity to either preserve its authenticityor undertake a full restoration to concours standards. The choice is yours.
Given its rarity and provenance, this may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own—or even see in person—such a significant piece of motorcycle history.
We strongly recommend viewing in person to fully appreciate the condition and historical value, but if that’s not possible, we’re happy to provide a comprehensive description over the phone.
These bikes almost never surface, and when they do, they don’t stay around for long. Don’t miss your chance.
