Description

Audi Allroad Quattro, C5 A6. Full years MOT, and completely rust free. The MOT tester was speechless at the condition of this car underneath, compared to much newer Audis.
The air suspension works, does not leak or sag, in my 3 years of ownership I have replaced the airbag struts, and installed a new piston ring on the compressor, so it works well and quickly.
The exterior is in lovely condition, no massive dings or dents in the bodywork and is a credit to me and previous owners.
All 4 tyres are All Season tyres so you can have grip all the time for whatever adventures you fancy with the Allroad.
The interior is in lovely condition with no rips or tears to the leather. The heated seats both work very well.
The stereo uses memory cards, or the 6 disc multichanger and is genuinely one of the best stereos I've had in a car, and I've had a few higher end cars. Loud, deep bass, and crystal clear clarity.
The wood veneer is lovely and really sets the interior off, new passengers always compliment it.
The ride quality is of Rolls Royce quality as it glides along on the airbags, soaking up the bumps.
The engine is very smooth, bags of torque and is a genuinely quick old thing, with lovely smooth gear changes.
The belts were changed 3 years ago at around 120k miles.
I have inspected the belts when I had to change the alternator and they still looked healthy.
Most recently the upper suspension arms were changed at the garage who struggled with the punch bolts, but jobs been done so will last a while with the Delphi parts fitted.
Over the last 3 years I have changed the suspension, drop links, brakes all round, two rear calipers, tyres, compressor piston ring.
Bigger jobs have been the alternator, and really big expensive job was the mechanical fuel pump and in tank pump. New battery last year too.
This is a common fail on this engine and failed around 145k miles so it will likely outlive the car. I bought this car as I love Volvos, and was trying to get an XC70 but they were too expensive and all had faulty AWD systems. Bought the Audi just to go on holiday with as it was quirky and could tackle single tracks and forest roads.
I didn't mean to keep it more than 6 months but it has stuck around for 3 years. It's been a very dependable car, especially in winter.
I will be sorry to see it go, but need to think my collection and I'm not really using it now.
You can see most of the work carried out on the car at my Facebook or Instagram pages @volvorestorer to see my work on this and others.
