Description
The bodywork and two-tone silver over gunmetal grey paintwork are in excellent condition, and the interior is also very good, particularly the blue velour seat upholstery and wood trim.
This car drives very nicely and runs well. It is serviced regularly and is garage kept. The starter motor is getting a little lazy but a new spare starter is included in the sale along with many other useful spare parts including a spare instrument panel and a brand new boxed alternator. Also included is a very useful factory workshop manual. Only 90, 000 miles, backed up by old MoT certificates and many invoices in history file. The car was imported from Japan in 2004 (allegedly an ex-embassy car). MoT’d until May 2026.
Points to note are a minor oil leak, the power door locks (central locking) does not work but all doors can be locked manually, and the air-conditioning is not currently working. The rubber door seals have seen better days but the car does not leak rain water into the cabin. A lovely original export specification 1990 model year Cadillac Fleetwood with a 4. 5 litre V8, multi-point fuel injection, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with column shift. Was imported from Japan in 2004 and I'm told was a former US embassy car.
Equipment includes a digital instrument panel, fuel trip computer, privacy glass, cruise control, electric seats, and soft-close powered bootlid.
It also still has its original carpeted floor mats. It has alloy wheels that are also in great condition and four good matching whitewall tyres.
Very unusual to find one with velour (vegan friendly!) upholstery, probably specified as it was destined for Japan where velour is traditionally preferred.
This is a great affordable, spacious luxury car with ‘80s style, that rides well and handles surefootedly. The transmission is excellent and shifts very smoothly, and it is surprisingly good on fuel for a V8. Great potential for weddings, or for film/ TV work, or just to enjoy and take to shows. You could even commute it in, which I did on fine days.
