Audi TT MK1 225 Quattro (BAM Engine) – Tastefully Restored
For sale is my Audi TT MK1 225 Quattro, finished in metallic black and fitted with the sought-after BAM engine. This car was originally purchased as a non-runner and has undergone a significant mechanical and cosmetic restoration over the past two years. MOT 14/ 11/ 2025
The car is structurally solid, rot-free underneath, with only a small rust bubble on the roof — a known MK1 weak spot. It now starts, runs, and drives reliably and confidently. It sounds amazing, modern classic.
Work Done (Pre-2023)
• CV boot
• Wishbones and lower arms
• Nearside driveshaft
• Front anti-roll bar (nearside)
• Handbrake overhaul
• Timing belt at 112, 000 miles
Restoration & Upgrades (2023–2025)
• New cambelt and water pump
• 3 piece clutch and flywheel LUK
• RAM air filter
• Forge dump valve
• Tubular manifold with 3” downpipe
• Turbo hot side and internals fully rebuilt (by Best Turbo)
• Custom performance map
• Gearbox bushes replaced
• New power steering pump and pipe
• Metal coolant pipe and thermostat housing upgraded
• Drilled and grooved brake discs and pads (all round)
• New rear calipers
• New boost pipe and exhaust heat wrap
• Genuine 18” multi-spoke alloys
• Brand new battery
Known Issues:
• Power steering rack has a slow leak — still fully functional, just requires occasional top-ups
• Boot struts are weak and will need replacing
• Passenger window is intermittent (likely motor or switch)

Videos and cold start etc just ask !I bought this TT because I’ve always loved the MK1 shape — especially in black, the paintwork isn’t faded and it’s stunning when polished. I wanted this particular BAM-Quattro engine as it is solid, it really pulls and sounds amazing.
I now have 2 young children and I wanted them to enjoy the car with me but it’s a squeeze ! So we will be onto our next project with more room.
