The KLR650A1 was awarded Bike of the Year in Germany in 1987.
And the original 1987 on KLR650 A series bikes are recognized by enthusiasts as being the best models.
Light in weight, it’s nose cowl & screen give good weather protection, large 23 litre fuel tank, a torque laden & economical 48hp motor.
This very clean & very original 2nd model year KLR was sold new to Germany, so isn’t the usual rotten UK sold example.
It is believed to be a 1 owner bike and has obviously been well looked after.
It has been dry stored for several years.
NEW parts include 3 x NEW indicators, NEW clutch lever, NEW clutch cable, NEW gas rear shock, plus various NEW OE bolts, screws etc.
Exhaust system is in VGC.
Likewise the wheel rims.
Good chain & sprockets.
Tires have plenty of life left in them.
Inside of the fuel tank is clean & rot free.
Engine Runs but the Carb needs cleaning out as it is leaking fuel from the carb.
Clean / un bodged Early KLR650s are getting harder & harder to find now.
