Description
The Triumph Mayflower was a small luxury family car built by the British Standard Motor Company from 1949 to 1953 and sold by their subsidiary Triumph Motor Company. It was announced at the British International Motor Show in October 1949, but deliveries did not begin until mid-1950. The Mayflower had traditional "razor edge" styling, similar to that of the Triumph Renown, which imitated the styling used by Bentley and Rolls-Royce cars at the time. Standard's managing director, Sir John Black, believed this would be particularly attractive to the US market. One advantage of the car's upright styling was that, despite its small size, it comfortably accommodated four people. This Triumph Mayflower was delivered new in England in 1953. Several decades ago, the Triumph moved to the Netherlands; after years of sitting in the back of a barn, the car was allowed to see the sunlight for the first time in 2021. The car has undergone a complete restoration, as they call Nuts and Bolts. The two-tone paint colour green/ white gives this car the typical 1950s look, but retains the classy appeal of an English classic. The interior has been completely redone, with the wooden parts in the dashboard completely handmade. The engine and gearbox have been completely overhauled. And a completely new electrical system has been custom-made. Thousands of hours have been spent restoring this classic Triumph. The Triumph Mayflower is now up for sale to make room for its next project. A stylish English classic, ready to be enjoyed. Private sale: This car is for sale and can be viewed by appointment only. This car is not on our premises. It is being sold privately by the seller. Fully restored Triumph Mayflower. The car is better than new what a unique item.
