Description
This stunning rare Disco was built on 14th March 1990 and first registered 1st April 1990. So one of the earlier production cars which makes this extremely rare.
It is a good clean car, a very straight rare and unmolested three door with the original Conran designed Sonar Blue interior. In 2019 the car underwent a very very expensive body off restoration taking around ten months to complete. Since then it has been used regularly doing lots of shows, its a well known vehicle in the show world!
Work completed during the restoration included a full body off strip and rebuild. The complete body was sand blasted and all rust areas replaced and treated. These included boot floor, rear arches front footwells, front inner wings and headlight boxes. The entire body was then raptor coated in all the places that would not be visible when the car was rebuilt including the entire underside of the car.
The chassis was acid dipped and cleaned. No repairs were necessary so it was fully galvanised and painted black.
Engine was serviced whilst off the car and all the belts including the timing belt were renewed. A new turbo was fitted along with a reconditioned fuel pump. The gearbox was fully overhauled with new cogs and gears.
The car was rebuilt and given a full respray. The external graphics were reproduced from lazer scans taken from the originals before they were removed.
The interior has had new side panels on the drivers side and reconditioned panels on the passenger side. All panels have been edged to stop them splaying out. The right hand jump seat in the boot space is brand new and the driver’s seat has had a new diaphragm and new seat foam fitted.
The fan in the heater box has also been replaced with a new fan.
The car was then put back on reconditioned alloy wheels which were a dealer fit option at the time this car was purchased. Pictures show this car was fitted with them at that time. Five new tyres were also fitted.
There is a large number of photographs available taken during the restoration.
The car has been on show at the NEC Classic Car Show and the NEC Practical Classics Restoration show every year since the restoration was completed. Also appearing at many other Land Rover Shows as well.
The car has been regularly serviced since by a reputable Land Rover Specialist. It is not a concours vehicle by any means and that was never the intention. The work was done to make it as good as we could for regular use and to have fun with. Since the restoration the vehicle has been serviced yearly, the odd mark here as its not been a show pony!
This is the best example in the Uk, a rare car for a fair price!
