Reluctant sale of my 1995 Mercedes-Benz W124 E280 7-seat estate; a late model of one of the finest cars Mercedes ever built. I bought the car from renowned W124 specialist Nicholas Froome in 2013, and it has been loved and well looked after ever since. It has only done about 50, 000 miles over the past 12 years, regularly serviced, and stored in a dry garage whenever not in use. The original Maintenance Booklet is complete, and I have a full service history for the period of my ownership, including replacement of the wiring loom, a new front wing, and new boot struts. It will be sold with a fresh MoT certificate, and the original key fobs and spare key (the original IR central locking has been replaced with a much more reliable modern remote locking fob).
The interior, with grey leather and burred walnut trim, is in excellent condition, with only a few minor wear and tear marks; extras include electrically adjusted driver's seat, leather steering wheel and gear shift knob, airbags for front passengers, air conditioning, electric windows front and rear, and double roller blind for luggage and passenger guard ... all in full working order.
The car drives beautifully, with smooth changes from the 5-speed automatic transmission, strong performance from the straight-six petrol engine (M104. 942), self-levelling suspension and working cruise control.
The exterior is in handsome Azurite metallic blue, and is generally in good condition. There are a few marks and scratches on the bodywork (examples shown in the photos), including damage to the rear plastic bumper, and some scuffs and corrosion on the original Mercedes alloy wheels, which would benefit from restoration. Some of the rubber seals around the doors are beginning to perish, and could also be replaced. A true Mercedes-Benz classic - this W124 E280 estate combines timeless design, solid German engineering, and everyday practicality. Known for their legendary build quality and longevity, the W124 models are increasingly sought after. The estate body with foldaway rear facing seats in the boot makes it supremely practical, while still offering refined, comfortable driving - perfect as both a useable classic or a collector's car.
