Description
The bike has had 3 owners from new including myself. It is co-owned by my brother and I having been offered it by our old family neighbour in the late 1990s when, having reached 80, he decided he would rather sell it and it get used rather than just sit in his garage. He bought the vehicle from the original owner around 1975 and the estimated mileage was around 80k based on what the original owner said about how and when he rode the bike. He told us that the only parts he'd replaced were the leather on the "panniers", the saddle and perishables like tyres. We have a load of documentation on the bike including the original sales invoice (which shows the front brake was an extra!!) It starts and runs well. There's no MoT as it's exempt. The pipes on the acetylene lighting have perished and the tyres are showing their age too. It originally had leg guards attached. We removed them after the bike was inscurely attached to a trailer and they were damaged (that was the only damage). They are available with the bike. Next year, the bike will be 100 years old and this is a great opportunity to own a piece of motoring history. I wish I had the time to ride the bike as the feeling of riding on something built 100 years ago in this modern age is truly fantastic but, the reality is neither of us have the time and we would rather it was sold and used. The bike is on the Sunbeam Register and the numbers are correct.
