Description
A strikingly elegant car in excellent condition on a Sunbeam 23. 8 LWB chassis with exclusive coachwork by Weymann. Exhibited at the 1931 London Olympia motor show. Sunbeams of the day were built to very high standards and enjoyed much success in motor racing and land speed record breaking.
The car has a 3. 3 litre 6 cylinder ohv engine of 74 bhp and a four speed gearbox with constant mesh gears on 3rd and 4th and a higher ratio rear axle, making for very acceptable performance on todays roads. The radiator has thermostatic shutters, brakes are Lockheed hydraulic, she has a large sliding sunroof. Subject to rolling restoration including engine, gearbox, and rear axle rebuild, strip and repaint, re-chrome, etc. Regularly maintained to a high standard during my 6 years of ownership and is registered with Motorhouse Hire for film and tv work. Former owners include for many years Humphrey Davie-Thornhill former high sheriff of Derbyshire and in more recent times Professor Alan Richens author of a definitive book of the vintage Sunbeam.
