Description
Here is an Austin A40 Devon pick up project.
This vehicle starts and drives, only stops with the handbrake. New front cylinders can be included for the full asking price.
This A40 is slightly unusual because it is 1955 built and benefits from having the proper B series 1200 engine. This means that the cross member has a factory cut out to clear the crank pulley making it ideal to swap a larger B series such as an MGB engine.
It also benefits from a fibreglass cab, the doors and front are the original steel items. It has a type of roll bar and nice thick plywood floors. It has Triumph TR wheels with new tyres and comes with an Austin A50 back axle for higher gearing. It has a Riley 1. 5 gearbox and an MGB pedal box. It will need some straightforward work around the pedal box.
This is a very nice and quite simple project for the autumn/ winter. A nice straight forward project with many options that already runs and drives. Tax and MOT exempt what a great machine. It needs more effort than money to complete, it's a blank canvas with huge potential.
