MERCEDES-BENZ R107 350 SL
Absolutely beautiful 107 we have just taken in part exchange against a modern Rolls Royce .
Finished in arguably one of the best colour combinations of Manganese Brown metallic over a Tan MB Tex interior
Only 96000 miles from new (documented) and comes with a wonderful folder of history , last year alone £2500 was spent ensuring all the brake callers were changed, prop shaft repaired/ replaced amongst other items too , both front wings have been changed too and the car presents well overall and is one of the most genuine examples you will find .
The interior is in absolutely incredible condition for a 47 year old car , there is not a single crack in the dashboard and all carpets, seats, trims , door cards are far better than any 107 we have ever had (and I’ve had about 30)
The body is very straight and all the chrome trim is excellent with virtually zero pitting, door shuts/ gaps are excellent , as previously mentioned front wings are documented as being replaced in recent years . It does require both sills replacing, although the jcking points are still solid, drivers door has a small scab behind the rubbing strip (door bottoms are excellent with zero rot ) sill ends have rusted into the lower footwells and just past the outer sill and the rear valance also wants repairing/ replacing . Any one who knows 107’s or is handy with a welder will not be phased by this we simply don’t have the time currently which is a shame as it will make an excellent and much more valuable car with not a great deal of effort , parts are all readily available and relatively cheap from sl shop .
I know everyone is also going to want ask about the bulkhead (standard r107 question!) I have power washed the car today and also ran water all across the scuttle and above the heater box cover and checked inside the car and it has leaked no water into the footwells (any prospective purchasers are welcome to do the same)
This presents a great opportunity for someone to purchase a very sensibly priced ULEZ Exempt 107 in a great colour combination with excellent trim .
