Unexpectedly offered for sale due to a bucket list P5 coming up for sale and, the usual story, I need space for it.
1966 Rover P6 2000 4-speed manual, with twin carb engine.
Very solid everywhere including sills, D posts, boot floor, etc, etc.
Aftermarket tilt sunroof fitted, no leaks.
Odometer reads just shy of 59000 but I couldn’t say whether that is from original.
A delight to drive, handles really well both through bends and on rougher roads. Good tyres all round, very smooth gear changing, and brakes on the button.
2016 Clutch master resealed and new differential mounts.
2021 Rebuilt rear brake calipers and new handbrake cable.
New Coverdale carpet set.
2022 New brake servo and new master cylinder.
2025 New gear lever spherical seat, plastic acorn, and retaining plate to improve change quality.
Cooling system flushed with citric acid and new bypass hoses.
The bad points:
The paintwork is not the best in places and would benefit from a detail and/ or touching up, and the front seats have splits, although they are taped and still useable. Replacements can be found online or through the owners club if required.
Priced to sell, this is an honest classic that can be improved or enjoyed as is.
