* DEPOSIT TAKEN* After 5 years of ownership, I’m looking to sell my immaculate VW Golf GTI Mk2 16v 3dr.
It’s a stunning car and has received a lot of care and attention over the years. I don’t use it enough however so time to let someone else enjoy it.
It has an interesting history, with 5 previous owners. I have owned it since 2020. The first private owner was the famous American music composer and conductor Elmer Bernstein, whose Movie scores included the Great Escape. Elmer owned this car for many years and there is a photo of him standing with the car within the history file.
In tornado red with rainbow cloth interior, the car is totally standard. It has done just under 97, 300 miles and is backed up with a full service history to verify the mileage, a fully stamped service book (15 stamps) and back up invoices and MOTs. Original handbook present as well.
It received a quality external windows out repaint in 2017 due to paint fade, I believe there was no welding required. Door shuts, engine bay and underside will all be original paint. On the underside, the rear beam and other suspension components have been powder coated, and brake lines renewed. Interior is original other than the headlining which was replaced a number of years back and does not sag.
It was last serviced in April of this year at the same time as having its MOT, and has done just a handful of miles since. This was a full service and brake fluid change. The brake servo and master cylinder were also replaced. Work done within my ownership has always been at respected VW/ Audi specialist SD Autotech.
