Description
Hello. It’s with a heavy heart I list my treasured Java Green Stage 1 V8 High Capacity. Arguably one of the rarest Land Rovers still on the road and the only one to leave the Factory in Java Green. She’s had a very sympathetic rebuild over the last 2 years. Engine is completely rebuilt along with the twin carbs. Runs lovely. Gearbox is not rebuilt as it didn’t need doing. Overdrive is quiet. Galvy chassis. I’ve rebuilt the bulkhead to a good standard and had it resprayed along with the new doors bottoms and military all alli sliding door tops. Complete rewire using the original loom and it all works well. Slightly upgraded Aston Martain rear lights. Just a bit nicer and quite subtle. All the rest of the body work is original. Some life dents dressed out and some left. I simply buffed all the original panels and the came up very well. Super offset 1 Ton rims blasted and powdercoated shod with new Radar Mud terrain 265/ 75/ 16 tyres. Remarkably quiet on the road. Parabolic springs. Original cloth 90/ 110 types seats were goosed so replaced with a good set of slightly later grey houndstooth seats. I never did like the modern headlining so I rebuilt an old series headlining. It’s complete and patched and I like it. I never set out to make the vehicle concours. There are 1000s of concours Land Rovers out there. My HiCap has Heart. She’s been to the Sahara and I made sure the Saharan sand was never removed from the top of the gearbox. The Decal on the front depict a Saharan biblical Tribe. It’s the history of the vehicle. That's another story. It’s a Jave Green 3. 5 Stage 1 V8. What else can I sayBought it of the cuff. Kinda liked it. Hated the colour but it grew on me and love it now.
Driver it for a few years and layed her up as coolant afford to run her. Sold her to a man in Holland and it’s the worst thing I ever did. Fortunately bought her back 2 years ago and embarked on a rebuild. Got cancer now so I need to sell sooner or later. Just as well seek her now.
