This is my Mobylette 1963 AV88, known as 'La Bleu' in France and as ubiquitous as a 2CV in the 1960 and 70s. The AV88 model had front and rear suspension and the 'variator' variable belt gearing drive. I bought it over from the Puy-de-Dome in rural France a few years ago and the V5 is in my name and address. A rear, period type, number plate is fitted. It is SORN but road legal. The moped runs and drives well, having recently had a new drive belt fitted and has good tyres. The speedometer and bell work, the lights will need new bulbs, the air filter box is missing. I have used it regularly on the roads and it is great fun. La bleu, the AV88, was once a common sight on the roads of France. Motobecane/ Moroconfort produced them large quantities. This one is in good running order and in un-restored condition. Cheap to run and fun to ride.
