This has proved to be a reliable trouble free Jag only needing the battery & crankshaft sensor replaced & is a joy to drive with power when you want it specially in sport mode.
The 6 coils have been replaced as there was a faint stumble at idle as the original Lucas ones were showing signs of cracking & has been fitted with the uprated upper timing chain tensioner.
Quality engine oil changes every year in my ownership & I changed the automatic transmission oil & filter & lsd & correct spec antifreeze.
I replaced all the door speakers as the originals had failed due to age & the radio/ cassette & 6 CD changer in boot is fully working.
I was lucky to find a NOS rear full width sun blind in correct colour to match the interior & recently replaced the clock lcd screen. Working Air con, heated/ electric seats & mirrors & original headlining fully intact.
The suspension on these cars is over bushed to create that famous XJ ride with the damper bushes turning to dust over time as they are of a strange compressed solid foam like manufacture.
Front strut suspension bushes have been changed but the car would benefit from the rears changing but generally you wouldn’t notice.
She has picked up a few exterior marks in the UK but overall the paint is very good & presents very well with no visible rust & underneath has been treated with Lanoguard.
I have enjoyed the XJ but need to scratch an itch for a P38 Range Rover ( I must be mad I know) so genuine reason for sale although it’s a mad reason lol.
I have replaced the rear light clusters with UK spec sovereign chrome ones but the originals with the red trim will be provided along with various new parts I have purchased as stock.
Shes only used at weekends & for family trips & has proved no trouble parked up for a week & starts first time every time.
Supplied with both keys including valet key & original leather Japanese Handbooks & service history along with receipts from my ownership.
This has been my first Jag & has lived up to the reputation of quality interiors & effortless power & refinement in an Old Skool executive class vehicle with the reliability Ford ownership brought to the table & is becoming an excepted Classic Jag in its own right.
