Description
This BMW E32 730i SE stands as a testament to an era when automotive design and engineering were driven by innovation, craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of what makes a car truly exceptional. Introduced in the late 1980s, the E32 was more than just a luxury saloon — it was a technological pioneer that helped shape the future of executive motoring.
Under the bonnet of this 730i lies the legendary M30 inline-six engine, renowned for its smoothness, reliability, and refined power delivery. This powertrain offered a harmonious blend of executive comfort and sporty dynamics, staying true to BMW’s “Ultimate Driving Machine” ethos. Despite its size, the E32 delivered surprisingly agile handling and excellent ride comfort, making it a pleasure to drive whether cruising on the motorway or navigating city streets.
Styled by Ercole Spada in collaboration with BMW’s design team, the E32 exudes a bold yet elegant presence. Its long bonnet, strong shoulder lines, and signature kidney grille give it a commanding silhouette that remains visually striking even today. In an age of increasingly tech-heavy and complex designs, the E32’s understated elegance continues to turn heads, offering a refreshing reminder of classic automotive styling.
Built during BMW’s “over-engineered” era, the E32 is celebrated for its solid construction and use of premium materials. From real wood trim to thick leather upholstery, every detail reflects a commitment to quality and durability.
About my car:
A very genuine 2 owner car with a detailed and comprehensive service history (over £14. 5k in receipts) 2 set of keys, still has dealer plates, stickers, keyrings, full toolkit and mats. Premium Unroyal tyres on freshly refurbished BBS alloy wheels. Ice cold Air conditioning with switchable automatic transmission. Electric - mirrors, windows, seats, sunroof. Remote central locking via a Gemini Alarm system. I fitted an M-Tec sport steering wheel as I prefer the feel of it. This car drives faultlessly and I use it as often as I can, even on long journeys. The ride is as good as modern luxury car, the recently serviced silky gearbox mated to a strong 3 litre straight six making a formidable driving car.
The mileage currently sits at 140. 100 miles and this may increase slightly. The body work gleams but it does has age related marks as expected of a car it this age. This car has benefitted from regular maintenance throughout its life, for example a cylinder head rebuild at the BMW dealer at 101k miles – with a nearly £3000 invoice!
I have the full BMW spec sheet for this car and it was ordered with badge delete, rear blind, electric and heated front seats with armrests, fine wood trim, headlight washer intense cleaning, cruise control, onboard computer, reading lights, reinforced power supply and without catalytic converters.
The interior is perfect apart from a slightly saggy rear headliner (this has been pinned up by my trimmer as a temporary measure - as hi is currently too busy to retrim it) the drivers door pocket and passenger glove compartment lid have just began to delaminate although this is hardly noticeable. My reason for sale is that I have began to reduce my collection of cars and let someone else cherish and enjoy them.
Sadly this car is on the HPI register as Cat N (I was hit in the rear and the insurance paid out) I had the car professionally repaired and have photos of the damage prior to the repair.
This BMW E32 730i SE is more than just a classic car — it’s a symbol of an era when luxury, performance, and innovation were seamlessly integrated. Whether admired for its engineering, driven for its comfort, or collected for its legacy, the E32 continues to embody the spirit of BMW at its finest.
