Description
Volkswagen Corrado VR6 Storm
Limited final run 407/ 500 (211/ 250 Mystic Blue)
Built May 1995
Bought in 2023 from a family, father and son (2nd and 3rd owners) that had owned it for +20 years.
Car was bought with 111k and has been used daily (about 100miles). It sits now with 150k and counting. Not a single mechanical problem in this time, a trip down to Spain and more recently to Scotland have proven how tough this car is.
Sunroof works both tilt and slide. Spoiler works on the button and 90% of the time at speed. Sometimes it will come up or down slow, maybe stop and then resume to position. I have opened, cleaned and greased the system and it now happens less often. I suspect it’s weather dependent and when cold the motor struggles a bit more with age.
ABS turns on and off as it should on start. Headliner was done professionally in 2023.
Timing chain and clutch done at 111k by Stealth Racing, as well as every service since. I get a lube service every 6-7k miles, can show receipt of these. New caliper fitted a year ago as it got sticky and affected the drive. Stealth Racing can vouch for the mechanical condition of this car and the no spare care it has received.
MOT passed until 28th Aug 2026. Four new Toyo Proxes TR1 fitted with 2k miles on them as per advisory.
Car was repaired for any superficial and potentially dangerous rust January 2024 and car was repainted. The aim wasn’t concourse level as the car has been a daily all this time. Sills were repaired for superficial rust too. Car was ice blasted and coated underneath to protect from salt and rain. The four wheels were refurbished and new BBS centre caps fitted.
January 2025 both front and rear glass removed and rust repaired around them. New front windshield with new rubbers fitted at that time.
Future work I had planned was a superficial rust spot on the tailgate and on the drivers door near the hinge (pictures attached).
Shell has been mentioned to be one of the best seen out there. Paint has a few chipstones and marks normal from daily usage. A quick polish removed most of them, but anyone with time, proper tools and knowledge will really get the car to look new.
Other mods are a Ramair cone airfilter and custom stainless exhaust done at Rich’s Fabrication. I still have the original airfilter with no broken tabs. TT wiper arms but still have original ones with me.
New battery was fitted March 2025. Fog lamps changed to LEDs to avoid fog glass braking due to heat of halogens. Both headlights and fog lamps have protectors on them.
Included are all manuals and two keys. Radio is the Sony OEM. Leather is in really good condition.
I got spare parts that can include for a fair price in the deal. These are:
Bentley repair manual (new)
N/ A sunroof repair kit from Corrado Club
Never fitted OEM Corrado floor mats
New Rear number plate tailgate trim plastic
A/ C compressor for conversion
Corrado chrome side trims
Dash buttons (ABS, light switch, fog switch…) for sparesFor a 30 year old front wheel car the driving experience down B roads is some of the best I have ever experienced in any vehicle. It then sits on the highway at speed very well planted, happily taking the miles.
The induction noise with the Ramair airfilter and custom exhaust is addictive and really enhances the superb VR6 engine noise.
