Description
Welcome to Track & Tour Cars. I might look like a business, but this is really where I sell my own cars, the ones I’ve lived with, loved, and maintained. Perhaps one day I’ll have the capital to rescue the hidden gems we all spot; for now, it’s my personal collection.
I’m a meticulous guy who fixes things before they squeak and, frankly, spends more than sense allows. Friends and family constantly send tempting finds; fellow petrolheads will know the feeling. I’ve learnt the hard way, from dodgy paint to low compression and a cut and shut once, so I am now very fussy when acquiring new vehicles.
What you’ll get here are honest, well-cared-for cars with clear histories and well-documented work. I price them fairly for the condition and preparation. Have a browse, and if one feels like your next long way home companion, let’s chat about motors and arrange a test drive.

An exceptionally well-sorted BMW 535D Touring (LCI facelift), offering the perfect blend of power, comfort, and practicality. I spent several months searching before purchasing this car in July 2024 — specifically seeking an example that hadn’t been used for towing, to safeguard gearbox longevity. (These ZF gearboxes are very strong and rarely fail, but I wanted the best of the best.)
Since then, a detachable tow bar has been professionally fitted, though I’ve only used it a handful of times.
Why This Model Over a Newer 5 Series?
When I was shopping for a 5 Series, I considered newer models but deliberately chose the E61 with the M57 engine. The reasons are simple:
The M57 engine is renowned for its strength, reliability, and torque.
Its successor, the N57, is notorious for timing chain failures and bottom-end issues. These problems are so common that BMW had to reduce the torque output to tune around the weakness.
The hydraulic steering on this E61 offers a more connected, natural driving feel than the later electric steering setups on newer cars.
In short, this car was chosen for its engineering integrity and long-term reliability — making it a better bet than many newer examples.
