Description
Unlike most UK-supplied C36 AMGs — which today suffer from corrosion and hard use — this example was supplied new to Japan, where the dry climate and absence of road salt mean it has remained completely rust-free and exceptionally well-preserved. Imported into the UK in 2017, it has covered just 64, 000 miles and never seen the rain in the UK and as such presents in outstanding, almost showroom condition inside, out and underneath.
The C36 was the very first AMG model sold in official collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. Produced between 1994 and 1997 in limited numbers, it was developed from the C280 Sport to take on the BMW M3 of the era. AMG reworked the straight-six engine to deliver 280 bhp, alongside uprated brakes and suspension. All cars were fitted with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Subtle but effective AMG bodystyling, 17” AMG alloys, and a sports exhaust completed the package.
This example is finished in striking Tourmaline Green metallic with an immaculate black nappa leather interior. It is presented in exceptional, unmarked condition inside and out, with virtually every option available at the time:
• Electric glass sunroof
• Ice-cold climate control
• Electrically adjustable and heated sports seats
• Birds Eye Maple wood trim
• BOSE Hi-Fi
• Cruise control
• Electrically folding mirrors
• ESP traction control
• Wood/ leather sports steering wheel
Mechanically, the car has been thoroughly checked over and drives exactly as it should. A new MOT will be supplied prior to sale. Comes complete with all original handbooks, service documents, toolkit, first aid kit, and keys.
I am only selling as I need to reduce my collection due to space constraints.
A rare chance to acquire a beautifully preserved, rust-free, low-mileage modern classic AMG — very few survive in this condition.
