A rare UK-market, AFN-supplied solo R51/ 3 retaining its original Middlesex registration. The bike comes from thirty years of care and light use in a specialist collection. An important model for the manufacturer, the R51/ 3 is a sporting 500cc air-cooled opposed twin with shaft drive, telescopic forks and sprung rear suspension.
This older restoration continues to present well in black with white pinstriping. Freshly-serviced, the bike features a rebuilt correct-type engine, a foot gear change with hand neutral, a stainless fish-tail exhaust, a sprung seat and a side-stand. We have fitted new tyres. A lightweight and enjoyable fine-weather ride – at nearly 75 years old!
