Sadly, I’ve made the decision to sell my 260Z project. Having bought the car in 2015 I hoped to have it lined up for restoration by now but unfortunately I’m not in a position to get the work done. I’ve tackled a number of things myself, which was going okay, however, with the arrival of my first born 2 months ago I no longer have the time (or frankly, the skills), to make decent progress myself. I think someone with more experience/ time/ money will be able to do a much better job.
The car:
LHD 260Z 2 seater, imported from California in 2014/ 2015. It’s had a metallic brown paint job sometime in the US, covering the original Emerald Green.
I bought the car with the NOVA documentation in 2015. I got it UK Registered in 2019. Odometer read 09513, history from the US shows mileage in December 1993 at 67888, so I believe the car is on 109, 513 miles.
Good points:
- Engine runs, from the fuel tank, matching number engine
- Lots of mechanical work completed, see below
- New floor pans already welded in
- Some nice parts fitted, Z Story exhaust, Mishimoto radiator
Bad points:
- Dent repairs needed
- Corners of the front wings need new patch panels welding in, or new front wings
- Corner of the rear window hatch may need welding or could be surface
- Blue smoke out of the exhaust, this has just started happening recently while letting it idle. I’ve dropped £1, 000 off the price to reflect this
- Dash has some big cracks, I have a new dash cover for making a simpler repair, included in the sale, also mentioned below
