TRULY STUNNING SAMURI — ONE OF THE VERY BEST
This exceptional Datsun 240Z Samuri has just undergone a complete cosmetic makeover, faithfully returned to the original Samuri colours as supplied by Spike Anderson in period. The result is nothing short of outstanding.
All decals have been expertly hand sign-written by Phil the Sign, exactly as they would have been done originally. The iconic Wolfrace Wheels have been fully refurbished, completing a look that is both authentic and simply stunning. On the road, the car drives beautifully.
With Spike Anderson’s sad passing this year, genuine Samuri cars are becoming increasingly significant, and values are widely expected to move only one way. This is a very rare and highly sought-after example.

• Well known and respected within Samuri circles

The Samuri story is legendary. Founded by Spike Anderson, the Samuri Motor Company built some of the most exciting modified Z-cars of the 1970s. Having trained at Broadspeed in the 1960s, Spike applied his expertise to the Datsun Z platform, creating cars that were faster, sharper, and more focused—quickly earning Samuri a cult following.

Ownership & History
This particular car is No. 16 of the 177 Samuris produced during the 1970s. It was owned for approximately 12 years by Peter, a regular attendee at Samuri events alongside his wife, during which time the car was restored. Following Peter’s passing, the car was acquired directly from his estate.
Our Managing Director purchased the car personally around seven years ago from the long-term owner. Since then, further careful refurbishment has been carried out. In his opinion, this car ranks among the very best Samuri examples available today. He also believes the sunroof to be factory supplied.
The car is accompanied by an extensive and in-depth history file, including:
• Period magazine features
• Invoices and MOTs
• Personal letters from Spike Anderson to Peter
• Records and references to previous restoration work
• Numerous photographs of the car at events over the years

The Opportunity
This fabulous Samuri offers a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable and authentic Z-cars ever produced—combining provenance, documentation, quality, and presence. It represents a compelling proposition both as a collector-grade classic and as a thrilling road car with outstanding B-road performance and unmistakable aesthetics.
The car has attracted interest and offers at auction in the past, but it has never quite met the required figure. As it is not being used, the price has now been sensibly reduced. If it sells, the new owner will acquire one of the very best Samuris in existence; if not, it will simply be kept and enjoyed another day
