Description

Ford Cortina 1500 GT 1966 two door Historic saloon car.
Brief history; JLC was originally built as a rally car in 1992 and still has its RAC competition log book and FIA historic vehicle identity form to compete in both British and continental events it was then converted to a race car in around 2012 to compete in HSCC historic touring car championship, fast forward to last year the car was repainted and rebuilt with many new parts including a fully rebuilt race engine.
Specifications;
A full race all steel 1500 GT Pre-Crossflow engine on twin Weber 45DCOE’s built by Paul Gardner Racing Engines currently only having dyno/ rolling road time.
Tony Law four branch exhaust manifold and system
Gearbox, 4 speed straight cut synchromesh gearbox with alloy bellhousing.
4:4 English differential with plated lsd unit.
AP racing clutch on lightened steel flywheel with new clutch paddles.
New parts fitted include geared starter motor, lightweight competition alternator, throttle linkage Varley Red Top racing battery with mounting and Mocal oil cooler.
Suspension, Gaz adjustable front struts and shock absorbers and AHR 1” anti roll bar.
Brakes, adjustable bias pedal box with all new aeroquip brake lines and new Mintex F6R front pads and uprated rear shoes.
Interior, Full bolt in roll cage, bespoke wiring loom with the addition of centre tunnel switches, complete new Lifeline Zero 2020 mechanical fire extinguisher system complete with correctly placed nozzles to current regulations. Currently fitted with race seat and six point race harness but please note these are out of date for race and rallies but perfectly serviceable for road/ track/ sprint, hillclimb use.
Exterior; professional body shop re spray in Ford Monaco Red, Perspex side and rear windows, new genuine Minilite 5 1/ 5 J wheels currently on new Nankang NS2R track/ hillclimb/ sprint tyres.
The car has been set up on a rolling road and showed 135bhp @rear wheels
JLC also comes with lots of interesting photos and documentation showing it’s history.
The car is road registered and has a current V5 showing Historic vehicle tax status.
