For sale Bristol LD6G Lodekka from 1955, a typical English double-decker of the so-called half cab model.
This is a very early example of the Bristol Lodekka, recognizable by the grille and the fact that the 'nose' is not completely made of polyester.
What also makes this bus special and extremely suitable for restoration is how original and complete the bus still is, this is because the bus has had one owner from 1976 to 2025!
This owner bought the bus directly from 'service' in 1976 and made the bus in his own colors, but did not modify anything.
The bus is in good condition, but it needs some attention to get it perfect.
The interior of the bus is also in good condition, you can leave it as it is for a real vintage look, or renovate it to make the bus look like new again.
The chassis of this bus is in exceptionally good condition, it requires hardly any work, just repainting it once so that it will last another 70 years.
This bus served in England on the Isle of Wight, which was mainly a tourist location, so the bus was used a lot in the summer, but in winter it was hardly used.
Because the buses had less to drive in the winter, there was more time for maintenance and of course fewer kilometers.
The powertrain of the Bristol consists of a Gardner 6LW engine linked to a 4-speed manual gearbox.
The braking system consists of a hydraulic system that is vacuum powered.
This bus still has its original English papers.
