1999 BMW R80GS BASIC
The very reluctant sale of my 1999 BMW R80GS Basic that I have owned for the last 26 years.
The bike is an original GS Basic with a Santorini Blue frame and Alpine White bodywork. It has been fitted with the large 35 litre Paris Dakar style tank. It is also fitted with heated grips, a Hepco and Becker pannier rack, Touratech Zega cases, Acerbis Rally handguards, engine bars, braided stainless steel front brake hose, a genuine BMW clock and rev counter. It is also being sold with its original 19. 5 litre GS Basic tank.
The bike is presented with its complete service history. This year it has had a new battery and starter motor fitted. In June the front brake was overhauled and an engine oil and filter change was completed by the independent BMW motorcycle specialists, Bavarian Bikes of Surrey. The MOT is valid until 8th November 2026. It is supplied with original BMW tool kit and the original 2 sets of keys and the BMW owner's manuals. I bought this bike brand new from the Bracken Motorcycle Workshop in SE London in October 1999. Much loved, with great memories of 2 European road trips. The bike has always been in covered storage and it was off road in dry storage for a continuous 5-year period between 2008-2013 whilst I was working overseas. Since then, it has had little use, being ridden during the summer months and in fine weather only. It is fitted with the original speedometer that shows it has clocked up a total of 31, 603 km (19, 637miles) and this is verified by all of the MOT certificates going back to 2002. The only reason I am selling it is that I just don’t have the time to use it and enjoy it properly.
