……………………. SORRY, RESERVED FOR MIKE…………………..
If you’re considering one of these iconic adventure bikes, this one has to be a serious consideration.
The bike was originally registered new in 1993, in New Zealand, and was brought back to the UK by its original owner, being imported in 1999. The bikes original paperwork from New Zealand is in with the history folder, and confirms the low mileage.
There have been only four meticulous owners in the UK in the last 26 years, and infact this is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of owning this one.
The history folder contains a huge amount of supporting paperwork for both the regular maintenance and numerous upgrades / extras. The mileage is a very genuine 72k kilometres (so around 44k miles) and the bike is mechanically spot on. Again, cosmetically, it must must one of the most immaculate, and importantly, original examples available.
The list of extras / upgrades is impressive, and includes:
. Three piece factory GS luggage.
. Hagon adjustable rear shock
. Bark Buster hand guards.
. Heated grips.
. Full stainless exhaust with pre silencer delete
. Stainless pushrod tubes
. Migsel stainless side stand.
. Factory sump guard.
. Full factory toolkit
. Countless stainless fittings.
. New lightweight starter motor.
All in all, this bike is WAY more than your average Classic GS. These are the epitome of a classic that is more than capable in the modern world. Air cooled simplicity, totally reliable, amazing to ride, and lets be honest, just cool!
Viewings and inspections welcome and encouraged, here at JTR Classic BMW, Washington, North East England, but please give me a shout prior to travelling, to avoid disappointment.
Good selection of Airheads available at the moment, including R75/ 5, R60/ 6, R75/ 6, R90S, R100RS, and Krauser MKM1000.
