Description
This 1962 Alfa Giulia 1600 Spider comes from the USA and was brought to France in 1994 where it underwent a complete restoration from the shell. A photo file is in the car's documentation.
It changed hands in 2005, then again in 2006. This third owner had the paintwork resprayed as it had faded over the years (photo documentation also exists), a new hood was fitted and there is a hood cover. He had an expert report done in 2007. It changed hands again in 2009 and a second expert report, which we also have, was carried out.
It then came to us in 2017 until the present day. It remains registered in France but is currently stored in our warehouse in Belgium. We've covered very few kilometres as it was kept at a secondary residence.
Since it's been with us, we've had the Solex carburettor serviced as it had an issue with an emulsion tube.
The engine comes from a Bertone 1750 coupé and we believe this dates from the 1994 restoration.
It's in very good overall condition, however there are a few items requiring attention as follows: the speedometer (odometer) no longer works, the gearbox isn't perfectly sealed (slight seepage), the door gaps aren't perfect and the boot lock doesn't close properly (possibly due to the gap alignment).
As for the bodywork, there's a small scratch on the boot, a small blister on the front of the bonnet, and a crack on the lower rear wheel arch on the left side. The front headlight lenses are slightly cloudy.
The chassis and underside are in very good condition.
It starts perfectly and is fitted with a kill switch.
In summary, minor work required but an attractive price accordingly, a Giulia Spider that really captures the spirit of the '60s and a joy to drive!
